Maths Ceilidhs

The Annual Maths Ceilidh

Each autumn the Maths School at Edinburgh Univeristy holds a ceilidh for staff and students. This started in 2002 and has always been a popular event, with lots of easy Scottish dances and a caller to teach them. The event is organised by Max Ruffert and the musc is provided by the Maths Ceilidh Band.

The Maths Ceilidh Band

• Alastair Gillespie on accordion
• Gillian Cook on fiddle
• Ken McKinnon on keyboard
• Judith Gillespie on bodhran, and calling the dances

In addition to playing for the Maths Ceilidh we sometimes play at the Maths Ball and for other student societies, parties and charity events.
