I am a reader in the
Applied and Computational Mathematics group in the
School of Mathematics at the
University of Edinburgh.
I have previously worked as a post doc with
David Marshall
in the
Department of Physics
at the
University of Oxford.
My principal research interests are ocean dynamics, numerical methods, and variational optimisation. In particular I conduct research in the areas of ocean turbulence and turbulence parameterisation, finite element numerical modelling, and PDE constrained optimisation.
