The Kenneth Mackenzie House is a short distance from the city centre. The location can be
roughly seen on the map: find Drummond street, close to number 46, near the centre of the
map; West Richmond street is the street (unnamed on the map) south-east
of Drummond street, almost parallel to it, and Richmond place (not
shown) goes from West Richmond Street to Drummond street (changing its
name to Roxburgh Place in the process).
The map can also be used to locate Waverley station (number 7), and the International Centre for Mathematical Sciences in
India street (top left corner) where the meeting will take
place.
Travel
General information on how to travel to Edinburgh can be found here (click on information and contact). To get to the city centre from the airport, there is a frequent bus service, with terminus on Waverley Bridge, near the station (number 7 on the
map). The bus service in the city is quite convenient;
however, you will need the exact change (typically 80 pences) to
pay to the driver.
Venue
The meeting will be held at the
International Centre for Mathematical Sciences,
14 India Street
Edinburgh EH3 6EZ.
This is near the top left corner of the
map.
The house is the birthplace of James Clerk Maxwell. From the Kenneth Mackenzie house, you can either walk (a longish walk through Edinburgh's highly recommended New Town), or take one of the following buses on Clerk Street: 29, 37, 37A, which stop on Castle street, quite close to India street; or 3, 3A, 21, 31, 33 which you can take to the west end of Princes street, leaving you a short walk. See the bus map.
